We are sad to announce that our own Doris Steere will be leaving nclud at the end of the month; she’ll actually be leaving D.C. Doris is moving back to Florida to be closer to family, her two new nieces and of course that constant sunshine. Doris has been an Art Director at nclud for almost a year and a half now; it feels like she’s been here since the beginning and she will without a doubt always be a part of the nclud family.
Doris is going to be irreplaceable; her energy, humor and tireless efforts to keep us all in line was a great complement to her beautiful visual aesthetic, unique illustrative talent as well as her own special design style. Her extreme creative talents aside, it’ll be her smile and happiness for life that we’ll miss most around the studio; she was always on an adventure and always had a story to tell. We are very happy for Doris; happy that she’ll be closer to her family, back in the Florida weather we know she adores and happy that she has found a new place to let her creativity flourish. Doris will be joining the team at HashRocket down in Jacksonville Beach, Florida.
But of course, we are going to make sure Doris leaves nclud the same way she came in, with a Happy Hour! Come out with us to wish Doris all the best as she heads off to Florida at 6:30pm on Thursday October 1st at the Science Club (1136 19th St NW).

Gasp!
Congrats though. Checking the calendar now, as I haven’t had enough opportunities to hang out with Doris.
Although I do fear, that come October 2nd, the studio will be filled with all kinds of unhealthy treats in her honor.

But who will steal my hat when I come to DC for a party at nclud? And who will draw plastic cups for that great web app I heard about at SXSW called HappyHour.org? Oh noes!

thanks guys. it’s certainly going to be bittersweet. I"m excited to be close to my family, but sad to be leaving all my friends who I’ve grown so close to.
nclud has been an absolute blessing and i feel fortunate to have worked in such a creative and fun environment with such a talented team.
And don’t worry, i plan on flying back for the parties ;)

I am very excited about having Doris join the Hashrocket team, but am a little nervous about providing as wonderful an environment as nclud has obviously provided for this star to shine. Her work while at nclud is a significant reason we are so excited about Doris joining our team and helping to take our design capabilities to the next level.
We are also very excited about adding such a seasoned Happy Hour pro to our staff to take that to the next level, as well. :)
All are welcome to come down and visit / co-work / enjoy a Happy Hour with the Hashrocket crew at any time ... beach views included.

It was great to meet Doris and look forward to working with her as much as everyone at nclud did! It’ll be awesome to have another triathlete in the office too ;)

Best of luck, Doris! You’re trading one crew of amazing people for another - Hashrocket is full of great people and will be a fun place to work.
